Glass with Ornate Rings
A 1915 opera house chandelier's crystal droplet and a 1950s motorcycle's gear ring.
This diminutive glass pendant is crafted from a broken lens salvaged from a 1961 microscope, its delicate curves and subtle scratches a testament to its former life examining the microscopic world. The original glass has been paired with a silver ring, carefully shaped to fit its irregular form, and a black ring fashioned from a fragment of 19th-century ebony, adding a touch of somber contrast. Suspended from a slender thread, the pendant now casts a tiny, distorted shadow, a miniature echo of its former role in illuminating the unseen.
Glass pendant earring with silver and black rings suspended from it.
