Glass Vase with Buttons

A 1905 opera house chandelier's discarded crystal droplet.

This delicate glass vase was once a railway carriage lamp from 1968, its transparent body illuminating the corridors of a bygone era. Tatjana Kreiner has carefully salvaged the glass, retaining its original shape and clarity, and added three antique buttons, meticulously restored to their former luster, which now adorn the vase's slender neck. The buttons, once fasteners on a 1920s military uniform, now serve as an intriguing contrast to the vase's refined form, imbuing the piece with a sense of repurposed narrative.

Glass vase miniature with three buttons arranged vertically on its side.
