Brass Monster Earrings

A 1902 Hungarian clockwork automaton's discarded gear casing.

*The Reliquary of a 1923 Railway Signalman's Lantern* provided the brass components for this miniature marvel, its original purpose of guiding trains through the night giving way to a new existence as a wearable artwork. Tatjana Kreiner has carefully disassembled and reimagined the lantern's parts, hand-painting the metal to bring forth a fantastical creature, its orange and brown hues evoking a sense of warmth and earthiness. Now, this diminutive masterpiece dangles from a delicate chain, ready to adorn the ear of a kindred spirit.
