Blue Box Phonograph

A 1902 theatre organ's blue-painted control panel.

The components of this diminutive marvel originated from a 1960s-era railway carriage lamp, its metal housing and electrical innards salvaged from a decommissioned train. Tatjana Kreiner has repurposed the lamp's metal to form the body of a blue-painted miniature cabinet, its original patina preserved in the lid's subtle scratches. Now, a functional record player is nestled within, its delicate mechanism and hand-painted needle a testament to the artist's ingenuity in breathing new life into discarded relics.

Hand-painted wooden miniature music box with a visible, functional record player.
